for KickinTheirBass

THE

PROBLEM

KickinTheirBass is looking to greatly improve a poorly optimized Shopify site that they believe can be better leveraged to enhance customer purchase flows, overall design, and promotional opportunities.

OBjectives

1. Build
a conversion focused website that capitalizes on high inbound volume from social platforms.

2. Optimize
mobile variants to reduce customer friction.

3. Reduce
cognitive load on potential customers by being product forward and taking a "less is more approach."

4. Organize

multiple product lines into an easy to navigate menu and home page.

5. Leverage
promotional plug-ins to increase likelihood of conversions.

6. Prepare
KickinTheirBass' website to scale easily with more products.

Approach

Below are three solutions for your site. Option 2 details our recommended path with LVWHT, while Options 1 and 3 are realistic external alternatives for your consideration.

OPTION 1

Native Shopify

Theme-based build

Pros

Easy to edit after hand off

Full native plugin support

Cons

Limited customization

Cookie-cutter results

Summary

Rearranging current structure, will result in a similar look and feel, marginal benefit. I would not offer this because I would not be able to justify the cost to client for marginal gain.

Low Cost

Low Reward

Non-LVWHT Solution

OPTION 2

Shopify Headless & Framer

Custom Storefront via API

Pros

Near-limitless visual customization

Shopify backend fully intact: products, analytics, sales

Adding new products to Shopify will auto-populate on Framer with one click by hitting "Sync" on the CMS

Scales easily, cart reminders, upsells, discounts, still functional

Cons

Some front-end plugins still in development

Extra layer to manage (not meaningfully harder)

Summary

Full bespoke storefront. Built to scale with or without a developer onboard. My most confident approach that would yield the best results utlizing our skillset. Many companies take this approach and use Shopify only on the back-end.

OPTION 3

Custom Shopify Dev

Bespoke native development

Pros

Near-limitless visual customization

Full native Shopify feature support

Cons

Likely the most expensive option

Requires custom code for every design decision

Summary

The "safest" but also likely to be the most expensive option. Would require a developer familiar coding with Shopify's UI. May need an additional designer to guide developer. If you choose this route, I'd advise working with an agency or freelancer with Shopify specific experience.
